The North America Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli recently announced its slate of races for its 21st season in 2014. The series enables owners of Ferrari F458 Challenge cars to compete against each other at world-class race tracks throughout the Americas. Drivers compete for trophies in two categories ” the Trofeo Pirelli and the Coppa Shell. The Ferrari Challenge Series is organized by Ferrari North America, and is sanctioned by IMSA.
The season will begin on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway, in conjunction with the Rolex 24 at Daytona on Jan. 24-26, also the historic first event of the TUDOR United Sports Car Championship. After a short break, the season will resume in California at Sonoma Raceway on April 25-27, followed by a May 16-18 race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Two Canadian rounds will follow, starting with an event in conjunction with the Formula 1 World Championship round at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on June 6-8. Three weeks later on June 27-29, Ferrari Challenge will visit Le Circuit Mont Tremblant in Quebec. The series will then visit two of the most historic circuits in America ” Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., on July 11-13, and Watkins Glen International on Sept.12-14. To cap off the season, Ferrari Challenge will take to the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas on Nov. 7-9, as part of the F1 USGP weekend.
