Three of the top four cars on the grid for the first of Sunday’s pair of FIA GT Series races at the Slovakia Ring have been excluded from the superpole session.
The two Sebastien Loeb Racing McLaren MP4-12Cs, qualified second and third by Mike Parisy and Alvaro Parente, and the fourth-placed WRT Audi R8 LMS ultra that took fourth spot have lost their times for procedural errors and been demoted.
All three cars failed to leave the pitlane more than five seconds after their target time during superpole, during which cars are meant to take to the track at 20-second intervals. The three cars will line up on the grid for the qualifying race on the basis of their times in qualifying 1 and 2. That means the Parente McLaren will start eighth, the Vanthoor Audi ninth and the second Loeb car 10th.
The exclusions mean that the best of the Reiter-run Blancpain Lamborghini Gallardo LP560s qualified by Stefan Rosina moves up to second, while Andreas Simonsen has been promoted to third place in his Pro-Am class HTP Gravity Charouz Mercedes SLS AMG.
