Pippa Mann will return to Dale Coyne Racing for this weekend’s IndyCar race at Pocono.
The 29-year-old Briton, who raced for the team at the Indianapolis 500 and on the Texas oval this year, takes over the car driven by Ana Beatriz for the past two events. Mann will get her first experience of Pocono in Friday’s test at the tri-oval alongside Coyne’s regular driver Justin Wilson.
“The deal happening this weekend to put me back in IndyCar really does come down to Dale Coyne,” said Mann. “Since the schedule was first announced, I’d wanted to run here if possible, especially with the open test, which would hopefully give me the opportunity to learn the track.
“The goal was to find a way for me to get in the car, and Dale worked tirelessly with us to make this race weekend happen.”
Mann, a race winner in Firestone Indy Lights, has a best finish of 20th from her six IndyCar starts; that result coming at the 2011 Indy 500.
