After testing the new Dallara IR18 Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, reigning IndyCar champion Alex Palou said he thought the car was capable of breaking records on all kinds of tracks.

Take an aerodynamic tech tour of the new 2028 Dallara IR28 with Marshall Pruett and Mike O'Gara, IndyCar's VP of competition and race engineering, ahead of the car's first track test scheduled for this weekend on the Indianapolis road course with Alexander Rossi and Alex Palou.

Two more seasons of service will be required of Dallara DW12 and 2.2-liter twin-turbo hybrid V6 formula, but fans won’t have to wait that long to see the next-generation cars on the track.
