Kellymoss returning to IMSA GTD
Decorated Porsche Carrera Cup team Kellymoss will return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for the first time since 2024, the team has announced.
Kellymoss will enter the No. 17 Porsche 911 GT3 R in the GTD class, fielding a full-season line-up of IMSA debutant Michael Clark, and three-time IMSA WeatherTech series champion Colin Braun.
It marks the team’s first full-season entry since 2023, when Kellymoss and Riley Technologies entered two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs. The team co-owned by Victoria Thomas and Andy Kilcoyne is best known for its success in Porsche one-make racing: Kellymoss won four consecutive Porsche Carrera Cup North America teams’ championships from 2021 to 2024, led by past Pro class champions such as Sebastian Priaulx, Parker Thompson, and Loek Hartog.
Originally based in Wisconsin, Kellymoss is set to relocate its operations into a new headquarters in Troutman, N.C., where it will share a new 145,000 square foot shop with fellow VICCI Incorporated subsidiary Riley.
“We’re excited to return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with Michael and Colin,” said team principal and co-owner Kilcoyne. “Having won both (Porsche) Sprint and Endurance championships with Michael in 2024, it’s been rewarding to see his continued development and the partnership he’s built with Colin since we brought them together in late 2025. This is a significant step forward for everyone involved, and we’re focused on building a program capable of competing at the front.”
Braun has spent three of the last four seasons driving for Acura Meyer Shank Racing in IMSA’s premier GTP category, winning the 2023 Rolex 24 At Daytona and Motul Petit Le Mans, and the 2025 Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen. He spent 2024 with CrowdStrike Racing by APR before the team suspended operations halfway through the season.
A past champion in the Prototype Challenge and LMP3 categories, this will be Braun’s first full-season program in a GT3 car since he and Jon Bennett shared a CORE Autosport Porsche 911 GT3 R in 2017. In 174 IMSA starts, the 38-year-old Braun has taken 26 career victories.
“I’m incredibly excited for 2027,” Braun said. “Michael and I clicked right away as co-drivers and built a great friendship throughout the 2026 season. Being part of his first full-season IMSA program is something I’m really looking forward to. He’s put in a tremendous amount of work to prepare for this next step, and with the support of Kellymoss behind us, I believe we’ll be well positioned to deliver strong results throughout the year.
“We’re putting together a great group of people who are motivated to succeed, and we're going to have a lot of fun along the way!”
Clark made his GT3 racing debut last year, driving for Kellymoss in GT World Challenge America with Braun as his coach and co-driver. They finished sixth in the Pro-Am class standings with a best overall finish of fifth place at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
“I’m incredibly excited and privileged to be competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2027,” Clark said. “Colin and I have been working hard to prepare both the car and myself for this next step. Competing at this level is a dream come true, and I’m grateful to Kellymoss, Colin and IMSA for the trust and confidence they’ve placed in me. I can’t wait to get started.”
Joining Clark and Braun for the five-race Michelin Endurance Cup is Canadian driver Kyle Marcelli, who is set to race in the WeatherTech Championship for the first time since 2025. He spent last season driving in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America for TB Autosports.
“There are so many great ingredients coming together in this program,” Marcelli said. “Kellymoss has a rich history of success with Porsche and has assembled an experienced and talented group of people. It’s an honor to join this organization.”
