Comcast has named Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle cochampions of the Comcast Community Champion of the Year, marking the first time the award has been shared.

“Kyle and Greg represented what this award stands for, using their platforms to make a difference well beyond the sport,” said Matt Lederer, Comcast’s vice president of brand partnerships and engagement. “Through their compassion, generosity and commitment to helping others, they made a lasting impact on countless lives. We are proud to name Kyle and Greg cochampions and celebrate two extraordinary legacies that will continue to inspire others.”

Comcast created the award in 2015 with its first season as the entitlement sponsorship in what was the Xfinity Series. It recognizes individuals in the NASCAR community who have committed to giving back.

Busch and his wife, Samantha, started The Bundle of Joy Fund to help families dealing with infertility. Since the organization started, it has awarded over $2.5 million in grants to nearly 200 families.

Biffle was routinely hands-on when needed in the aftermath of devastating events. Most notably, Biffle flew his helicopter to help the victims of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. To continue those efforts, the Biffle Family Legacy Impact Fund partners with the Foundation for the Carolinas to support communities and causes in need.

NASCAR lost both stars within five months.

Biffle and six others, including his wife and children, were killed in a plane crash in December. Busch lost his life in May to pneumonia that progressed into sepsis.

Comcast will donate $120,000 to recognize Busch and Biffle as this year’s award winners. The Bundle of Joy Fund will receive $60,000, and the Biffle Family Legacy Impact Fund will receive the other $60,000.
