Hobson succeeds Griffiths as Andretti FE team principal
The Andretti Formula E team will have a new team principal this season as Campbell Hobson takes the place of Roger Griffiths.
Griffiths – the series’ longest-tenured team principal – will transition to a senior advisory role across the wider TWG Motorsports portfolio, having led the team for its entire run in Formula E so far, overseeing 13 race wins, 46 podiums, and the 2022-23 drivers’ title with Jake Dennis.
“Leading this team from the beginning has been one of the great privileges of my career, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built,” said Griffiths. “After 12 seasons, this feels like the right time to pass the torch.
“Campbell has been a trusted part of our leadership for years and understands this organization at every level; he has earned this opportunity. I’m excited to support him while also contributing more broadly across Andretti and TWG Motorsports.”
Hobson steps into the role having previously served as team manager during the team's factory BMW days, and later racing director. Before that he was chief engineer and then team manager at Techeetah.
“It’s an incredible privilege to take on the role of team principal,” said Hobson. “I have tremendous respect for Roger and what he has built, and I’m grateful for the team’s trust and this opportunity. We have a great group of people, a strong foundation and a lot of ambition for what comes next.”
Jill Gregory, president of Andretti Global and chief operating officer of TWG Motorsports, said that Hobson’s previous experience working alongside Griffiths at the team makes him the ideal candidate to take over.
“Campbell has been instrumental in the operation, and we are very happy to see him take this opportunity to lead the team,” she said. “He knows the program inside and out, has the respect of the team and brings the leadership and competitive drive we need as we look toward the future.
“Roger has been foundational to this program. What he has built over 12 seasons extends well beyond results on track into an exceptional team and culture. This transition allows us to build on that foundation while continuing to benefit from Roger’s experience and perspective in a broader capacity.”
Andretti will continue with Dennis and Felipe Drugovich as its drivers this season, but will switch to Nissan powertrains for the first time after a four-year partnership with Porsche.
The 13th Formula E season will begin on Dec. 18-19 with a doubleheader in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Dominik often jokes that he was born in the wrong country – a lover of NASCAR and IndyCar, he covered both in a past life as a junior at Autosport in the UK, but he’s spent most of his career to date covering the sliding and flying antics of the U.S.’ interpretation of rallycross. Rather fitting for a man that says he likes “seeing cars do what they’re not supposed to do”, previously worked for a car stunt show, and once even rolled a rally car with Travis Pastrana. He was also comprehensively beaten in a kart race by Sebastien Loeb once, but who hasn’t been?
