Ford Hypercar takes another step forward at Silverstone test
Ford Racing completed a multi-day test of its still-unnamed LMDh-spec Hypercar in mixed conditions at Silverstone this week, as the American marque continues preparing for its FIA World Endurance Championship debut next season.
2027 race drivers Nick Yelloly, Sebastian Priaulx and Logan Sargeant shared driving duties for the opening day of testing, before Sargeant ran alone on the second and final day as Yelloly and Priaulx traveled to Road Atlanta ahead of Petit Le Mans this weekend.
Notably, the car ran with headlights for the first time, testing the car’s design cues at little more.

“Silverstone was a positive two-day test – we had sunshine, rain and a drying track giving us a useful range of conditions,” said program manager Dan Sayers. “We also ran longer stints for the first time and everything went well. Nick Yelloly, Sebastian Priaulx and Logan Sargeant shared driving duties on day one, with Logan continuing on day two. This was our third test, and we’re continuing to make good progress as we prepare for Monza later this month.”
The test, which followed previous running at Circuit Paul Ricard and Portimão for the 5.4-liter V8-powered machine, marked the first time that the car has run at a venue on the 2027 WEC calendar.
Ford’s test program will continue to focus on European venues for the time being, starting with Monza later this month, before it moves to North America at the end of the year.
