Bourdais to race DragonSpeed Corvette at Petit Le Mans

Sebastien Bourdais has been signed by DragonSpeed to drive its Corvette Z06 GT3.R at IMSA’s Motul Petit Le Mans season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

A two-time overall winner at the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship event in 2015 and 2024, the Frenchman joins the team owned and operated by Henrik Hedman and Elton Julian as the third member of the GTD Pro rotation alongside Giacomo Altoe and Casper Stevenson.

"Getting a call up from DragonSpeed and being asked to race with them really put a smile on my face,” said Bourdais, who won for the factory Cadillac GTP team two years ago and competed in LMP2 in 2025. “I love Petit, and have been fortunate to have a lot of success there in the past. This will be my third different class in the last three years, and I’m really excited to see how different it is to what I’ve experienced for the previous two times.

“Racing in GTD Pro in a Corvette will also be two new ventures, but everyone I’ve talked to says the Chevy is a great car. The focus of the weekend is to help DragonSpeed, Elton, Henrik, Giacomo, Casper, and all the guys behind the scenes get a win at Petit for GM!”

Bourdais has been part of the GM family since 2020 in IMSA’s former DPi class, in GTP, and most recently in the FIA WEC’s Hypercar class with the Jota Sport Cadillac program. He signs off from Jota at the end of the season and will help DragonSpeed to close its latest chapter in IMSA as it steps away from the series after the 10-hour Petit race on October 3.

Over the years, DragonSpeed has raced with some of the great drivers of their generation, whether it be in Endurance or Single seaters. Sebastien is one of those drivers.

“When the decision was taken to race in Pro to close out our GT campaign in IMSA, we needed an ace in the pocket and we found one. With him, I know what we are gonna get and it’s exactly what we will need.
