More 2027 IndyCar calendar dates revealed

The IndyCar Series revealed the first portion of its 2027 calendar in August, and while fans await the second release to confirm the rest of its upcoming schedule, a few tracks have taken it upon themselves to write in the dates for their next IndyCar events.

The Aug. 12 release, which said the next release would happen “in the coming weeks,” covered pre- and in-season tests at Phoenix and Indianapolis and outlined the eight opening races from March 7 at St. Petersburg through the June 6 contest in Detroit.

Following the June 6 race, teams will head to World Wide Technology Raceway for a two-day visit and race on Sunday, June 13, which makes for five straight weekends of action between the May 15 Indianapolis road course race, qualifying for the Indy 500 across May 22-23, the Indy 500 on May 30, and the consecutive events at Detroit and WWTR.

And like the March 19-21 weekend in Arlington, which clashes with IMSA’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring where numerous IndyCar teams and drivers traditionally find themselves in March, the WWTR date clashes with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which would complicate any participation plans that were previously held by members of the IndyCar paddock.

Road America has its familiar late-June event listed on its website with a race date of June 27, and the same is true for Mid-Ohio, which is understood to fall on the same holiday weekend right after Road America on July 4.

With 11 races in place, dates for the other venues from 2026 including Nashville Speedway, Portland, Markham, Washington D.C., Milwaukee, and Monterey await solidification.

The closer at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is understood to be contracted as the last race on the schedule for multiple years, but the next date remains unknown.
