NASCAR's Clash officially heading back to Daytona in 2027

Daytona International Speedway made it official on Tuesday: The Clash is returning to its original home for a Saturday night event to kick off the 2027 season.

It will be held on February 13, with Wheatley Vodka the new entitlement sponsor of the event.

"The pairing of a fan-favorite event like The Clash with a premier vodka brand in Wheatley American Vodka is the perfect way to welcome home one of NASCAR's most beloved traditions to open Speedweeks Presented by AdventHealth for 2027," said track president Frank Kelleher. "The Wheatley Vodka Clash adds another can't-miss event to an already unforgettable week, creating even more opportunities for our fans to experience the energy and excitement that make Speedweeks so special.

“It all builds toward the DAYTONA 500—The Great American Race—and the start of another unforgettable NASCAR season at the World Center of Racing."

The last time the Clash was held on the oval at Daytona was in 2020 (pictured). It was shifted to the road course in 2021 before leaving the famed speedway.

NASCAR held the event at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for three years (2022-2024) after building a quarter-mile track over the football field. For the last two years (2025-2026), it has been held at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The Clash will kick off Speedweeks in Daytona, which goes through Feb. 21. All three NASCAR national series will be in attendance, as well as the ARCA Menards Series.

NASCAR will return to Daytona for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 in August. Those dates have been announced for August 27 and August 28.
