SCORE reveals 2027 Desert Championship calendar

SCORE International has confirmed the details of its 2027 SCORE World Desert Championship, highlighted by the announcement that the BFGoodrich Tires 60th SCORE Baja 1000 will feature a peninsula course starting in Ensenada, Baja California. The 2027 schedule will also mark the return of Mexicali, Baja California, as the host city for the King Shocks 40th SCORE Baja 250.

For the 12th consecutive year, Mexico will host the entire SCORE schedule, highlighted by the 60th anniversary of the legendary SCORE Baja 1000, which will feature a peninsula run beginning in Ensenada and finishing at a destination that will be announced at a later date by SCORE officials.

The 2027 season, SCORE International’s 54th, will feature a four-race championship that includes the King Shocks 40th Baja 250 in Mexicali. The event marks SCORE’s return to a city that previously hosted the historic SCORE Mexicali 250 during the 1970s and '80s.

All four rounds of the 2027 SCORE World Desert Championship will feature qualifying for five of SCORE’s premier racing divisions: SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD, SCORE Trophy Truck Legend, Class 1, and Trophy Truck Spec. Each race will also include SCORE’s signature live broadcast production across its social media platforms.

The opening round of the 2027 SCORE schedule will be the King Shocks 40th SCORE Baja 250, held March 17-21 in Mexicali, Baja California. Home to the SCORE Baja 1000 in 1993 and '94, Mexicali boasts thousands of passionate Off-Road fans and an expansive desert that provides the perfect proving grounds for the world's finest desert racers.

Round 2 will feature the BFGoodrich Tires 59th SCORE Baja 500, with its diverse racecourse, giving motorcycle and four-wheel competitors the opportunity to tackle virtually every type of Baja terrain, from wide-open desert and rugged mountains to breathtaking Pacific beaches. The legendary desert race will be held June 2-6.

Round 3 of the 2027 season, the 8th SCORE Baja 400, will be held Sept. 8-12. As the newest race on the SCORE International calendar, it will once again feature its start and finish in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, while qualifying, contingency, and the awards celebration will also take place in the city, creating the perfect setting to celebrate another anniversary of Mexico’s Independence during the nation’s celebrated Patriotic Month.

The SCORE Baja 1000, will celebrate its 60th anniversary from Nov. 14-20, 2027, returning with the historic peninsula run format that has captured the imagination and passion of millions of racers and adventure seekers throughout its storied history.

Ensenada, Baja California will serve as the official starting point for the ‘The Grandaddy of All Desert Races,’ while the finish location will be announced at a later date.
