Ford hits the big 7-5-0 in NASCAR with Blaney's EchoPark win

Ryan Blaney delivered Ford its 750th victory in the NASCAR Cup Series in the early hours of Monday morning at EchoPark Speedway.

It was a dominant performance from the Team Penske driver. Blaney won from the pole, swept the stages, and led 171 of 263 laps.

“It's really special to be just a small part of that,” said Blaney, who has now won twice this season. “They've been incredibly great to me over my career. Gosh, I’ve been with them since 2013 when Penske made the switch from Dodge. They've been great people. Really been able to get to know a lot of folks over there, whether it was the racing program or Ford Motor Company. Jim Farley is a great leader. Mark Rushbrook is fantastic on the Ford Racing side.

“It's been fun to have success with those folks. At the end of the day, they're racers. That's what that company was built on. To be successful and to win for that and add to the success they've had in the Cup Series means a lot.”

All of Blaney's 19 wins in the Cup Series have come while driving a Ford. Sunday’s victory was also the 109th for Team Penske with Ford.

The first win for Ford in the series came on June 25, 1950, at Dayton Speedway by Jimmy Florian. There have been 91 drivers who have won at least one race for Ford.

Ned Jarrett is the all-time winningest Ford driver in the series, with 43 victories.
