Arrow McLaren clears Lundgaard to sign a new contract elsewhere for 2027

Arrow McLaren has given Christian Lundgaard formal clearance to sign with a new team for next year.

RACER understands the Dane was officially informed within the last 24 hours that the exclusive negotiating window the team held through the end of the season was removed, which means the three-time race winner is free to sign elsewhere without having to receive approval from Arrow McLaren.

The 24-year-old is searching for a new opportunity in the IndyCar Series after the team hired six-time champion Scott Dixon to replace him in the No. 7 Chevy starting in 2027.

Lundgaard’s achievements with Arrow McLaren since joining the team in 2025 are remarkable; on top of the two wins he’s earned since May, 11 podiums from 28 races so far in the No. 7 entry speaks to his consistent output on road and street courses.

Lundgaard is expected to draw considerable interest from every team with a paying seat to offer, which includes Chip Ganassi Racing (Scott Dixon), Meyer Shank Racing (Felix Rosenqvist), Andretti Global (Marcus Ericsson), and others who rank behind those teams in the standings.
