IMSA qualifying at Watkins Glen delayed for track repairs

Qualifying for the IMSA Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen has been postponed until late this afternoon due to track repairs at Watkins Glen International.

During the preceding Michelin Pilot Challenge series race, a piece of the curb at the Inner Loop chicane came apart in the last 10 minutes of the two-hour race, causing significant damage to one of the front-running Grand Sport (GT4) cars.

Instead of running at its scheduled start time of 3:40pm ET, qualifying will now take place after the conclusion of Race 2 of Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, set to conclude at around 6:05pm ET, with its start set for 5:15pm.

More details to follow.
