IROC returns to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the 2026 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion
IROC will return to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca as part of the 2026 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, bringing another all-star lineup of racing icons back to the world-famous circuit August 12–15.
Legends scheduled to compete in this year’s event include seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, NASCAR champions Kurt Busch and Bobby Labonte, four-time IndyCar champion and three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti, CART champion and Indianapolis 500 winner Danny Sullivan, and five-time overall winner of the Rolex 24 at Daytona Scott Pruett.
The International Race of Champions (IROC) debuted in 1973 and quickly became one of motorsport’s most celebrated showcases, pitting champions from F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, sports cars and beyond against one another in identically prepared machinery.
The return of IROC to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca follows a highly successful debut appearance at the 2025 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, where the IROC Presented By Chevrolet Unser Family Cup became one of the weekend’s most anticipated attractions. The event brought together seven generations of IROC race cars and a legendary grid of drivers, celebrating the spirit of one of motorsport’s most iconic series. Tomy Drissi captured the overall class victory, driving a 2006 IROC Pontiac Firebird during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, adding another memorable chapter to IROC’s storied legacy.
“The response to the return of IROC has been incredible. Events like the one we put on at Monterey last year remind people what made the series so special in the first place – champions from every racing discipline competing on equal ground,” said Ray Evernham, Co-Principal of IROC.
“Seeing the tremendous success of our 2025 event and the enthusiasm from fans, drivers and the motorsports community reinforced just how meaningful this series remains. Few events in motorsports can match the access IROC provides at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion for fans to interact with their racing heroes and get up close and personal with the historic race cars that made the series famous."
Other notable entries include defending Unser Family Cup class winner and Trans Am champion Tomy Drissi, McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown and country music industry pioneer Scott Borchetta. Additional drivers and special guests will be announced in the months leading up to the event.
“The return of IROC to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca brings together some of the greatest names in motorsports for a truly unforgettable celebration of racing history,” said Mel Harder, President and General Manager of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
“From NASCAR champions to INDYCAR legends and racing personalities from across the industry, IROC has always represented pure competition and camaraderie. Seeing these icons battle once again at Laguna Seca during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will be an incredible experience for fans.”
The 2026 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will celebrate 'Salute to Japanese Motorsports: A Tradition of Precision & Heritage,' featuring historic race cars spanning decades of motorsport history competing wheel-to-wheel on the iconic 2.238-mile circuit.
