Bourdais puts Cadillac on top for final Le Mans practice

Practice for the 94th 24 Hours of Le Mans has ended with the No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R set the quickest time: a 3m26.843s turned in by Sébastien Bourdais right at the checkered flag.

It was some small solace for the team, which lost out on pole position just over an hour ago due to a pre-start procedure violation in Hyperpole.

In second place was Robin Frijns aboard the No. 20 BMW M Team WRT Hybrid V8, followed by Mike Conway in the No. 7 Toyota Racing TR010 Hybrid in third.

Alpine Endurance Team’s Ferdinand Habsburg completed the required five laps at night to be certified to drive overnight, as did JOTA Cadillac driver Earl Bamber and United Autosports LMP2 driver Rasmus Lindh.

Ben Barnicoat in the No. 183 AF Corse ORECA 07-Gibson was the quickest combo in LMP2, the Englishman set a 3m36.189s, to lead the No. 30 Duqueine Team ORECA and No. 37 CLX Motorsport ORECA.

And it was a Corvette 1-2 in LMGT3, headed by the No. 33 TF Sport Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R driven by Jonny Edgar to its best lap time (3m55.262s).

Behind it was the No. 34 Racing Team Turkey by TF ‘Vette in second, while the No. 23 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3 split up a potential Corvette top three lockout.

All 60 minutes of this final practice were completed with no major incidents or mechanical issues.
