UPDATE: Fast Friday under way at Indy, extended to 7pm
Blustery conditions at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway transformed into showers on Friday morning, delaying the scheduled start of Fast Friday at 12pm ET. With the skies now cleared, practice got under way at 2pm and the day's running has been extended by one hour, to 7pm, to make up for the delay.
During today's practice, the field of 33 will have the ability to switch their engines to the high turbocharger boost level they’ll have over the weekend in qualifying, to perform qualifying simulation runs.
Rain, however, is forecast for most of Saturday which could shift setting the field until Sunday.
