PrizePicks backing for Hunter-Reay’s Arrow McLaren/Legacy Indy entry

Arrow McLaren has unveiled a new primary sponsor in betting site PrizePicks for the No. 31 Chevy co-entered with Legacy Motor Club for Ryan Hunter-Reay at the Indianapolis 500.

Amid a trio of McLaren cars featuring the brand’s traditional papaya orange, the 2014 Indy 500 winner’s car makes use of something different with purple as its featured color.

“I’m psyched to work with PrizePicks and the No. 31 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet team,” Hunter-Reay said. “PrizePicks is a creative and innovative group that will bring a breath of fresh air and fan base with them to the Indy 500 and IndyCar racing. We’re currently locked into our first major objective – the Indy 500 Open Test – but can’t wait to get that edgy PrizePicks paint scheme on track in May!”

Hunter-Reay produced the 28th-fastest lap during the two-day Indy Open Test earlier this week with a 221.650mph tour as he got to know the team and car. Arrow McLaren teammate Pato O’Ward had the strongest run within the quartet as the No. 5 Chevy driver posted the sixth-fastest lap at 225.109mph.

Official Indy 500 practice begins on Tuesday, May 12.
