HMD shines brightest in Sebring Indy NXT testing

The Indy NXT series spent two days testing on Sebring International Raceway’s short course and completed the run on Tuesday with HMD Motorsports’ Enzo Fittipaldi securing the fastest lap.

The Brazilian American posted a 55.7750-second lap around the 1.67-mile outer loop in what was a productive day for the HMD team that saw its four primary drivers along with two from an affiliate program it runs place inside the top 10.

After Fittipaldi, it was Andretti Global’s Max Taylor (+0.2288s), the HMD-run AJ Foyt Racing rookie Alessandro de Tullio (+0.2935s) in third, Juan Manuel Correa in the HMD-led Cusick Morgan Motorsports car (+0.3509s) in fourth, Abel Motorsports’ Myles Rowe in fifth (+0.4064s) and HMD’s Jack Beeton rounded out the top six (+0.4242s).

Andretti’s Josh Pierson was seventh (+0.4299s), HMD’s Salvador de Alba was eighth (+0.4316s) and had NXT newcomer Tymek Kucharczyk close behind in ninth (+0.4816s) and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Niels Koolen completed the top 12 (+0.5339s).
