Kucharczyk headed to NXT with HMD

Poland’s Tymek Kucharczyk is rerouting his career to the Indy NXT series with HMD Motorsports. The 19-year-old, who won the 2025 Euroformula Open Championship crown with BVM Racing, joins the Indiana-based team that won the 2022 Indy NXT title with Linus Lundqvist and took the championship in 2023 with Christian Rasmussen.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join HMD Motorsports,” said Kucharczyk. “Making the move to the American racing scene feels like the right next step, and the test I did with the team was really positive. I feel confident in what we can achieve together. I am committed to giving everything I have this year.”

HMD Motorsports president Mike Maurini has retooled the program to field four cars as HMD and four more cars under a pair of co-entry programs with AJ Foyt Racing and Morgan Cusick Motorsports.

“Tymek has shown tremendous potential throughout his career,” he said. “We are excited to help guide his development in the United States and see what we can accomplish together. The 2026 season will undoubtedly feature a strong line-up throughout the series, and we believe Tymek will be a valuable addition to it as he fights for race wins, podium results, Rookie of the Year honors, and ultimately, the Indy NXT championship.”
