$200,000 in prizes to be awarded at Skip Barber Race Series Winter Shootout

The Skip Barber Racing School will be awarding over $200,000 in prizes through its Skip Barber Race Series Winter Shootout at Circuit of the Americas in January. Drivers will be tested on their consistency, adaptability, and coach-ability over the course of the two-day program scheduled for Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

The winner of this year’s Skip Barber Race Series Winter Shootout will be awarded a half season in the 2026 Skip Barber Race Series. Second- and third-place finishers will be awarded entrance into three and two rounds of the 2026 season, respectively.

Shootout and other scholarship opportunities have long been offered by the Skip Barber Racing School. In the past, drivers such as Alexander Rossi, Marco Andretti and AJ Allmendinger have been awarded scholarships to the benefit of their professional racing careers.

Drivers who have completed a Skip Barber Racing School program or drivers who have sufficient experience in karting, junior formula racing, or sim-racing are eligible to enter. Among the factors that will determine the winners are a drivers’ lap time consistency, rate of performance improvement across the sessions, technical understanding, and their personal and professional conduct.
