Inter Europol Competition adds second car for the Rolex 24
Inter Europol Competition has announced today that it will add a second car for the upcoming 64th annual Rolex 24 At Daytona, bringing together a cast of eight strong drivers for the biggest race of the IMSA season.
Inter Europol’s pursuit of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship LMP2 title begins at Daytona, where António Félix da Costa will join full-season drivers Tom Dillmann and Jeremy Clarke, and Michelin Endurance Cup driver Bijoy Garg in the No. 43 ORECA 07-Gibson. Da Costa raced with Inter Europol at last year’s Rolex 24, but the No. 43 car retired from the race due to a mechanical problem, taking them out of contention for a win.
Clarke, Dillmann and Garg would go on to win the Twelve Hours of Sebring the next round, and the No. 43 crew finished the season with three straight runner-up finishes at Road America, Indianapolis, and Petit Le Mans – enough for third in the Teams’ championship.
Added to the entry list of this year’s Rolex 24 is the No. 343 Inter Europol ORECA, driven by two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner Jakub Śmiechowski, Bronze driver Georgios Kolovos from Greece, Arrow McLaren NTT INDYCAR Series driver Nolan Siegel, and Peugeot Sport WEC driver Nick Cassidy.
Kolovos will make his IMSA debut next month and already has a year of LMP2 experience under his belt across the European and Asian Le Mans Series. Śmiechowski and 2024 Le Mans class winner Siegel each return to the Rolex 24 after a year away, while Cassidy’s 2026 Daytona appearance will be his first since 2019, during his successful tenure with Toyota in Super Formula and SUPER GT.
“This will be our first time running two cars at Daytona, and we have two very strong lineups that should both be capable of fighting for the win,” said Inter Europol Competition Team Manager, Sascha Fassbender. “The team is well prepared for the 24-hour challenge, and I’m really looking forward to this new chapter for Inter Europol Competition.”
Dillmann, who also won this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans for Inter Europol alongside Śmiechowski and Nick Yelloly, added, "It is great to have continuity both with the team and my teammates. We can keep on working on small details that make the difference, aiming at having even more success. The goals are clear: to claim the championship again and add some iconic races to our achievements. The first one, Daytona!”
“Daytona is one of my favorite races of the year, and I am very excited to be back,” said Siegel, who tested with the team at Daytona in November. “Sitting out for a year made me hungrier than ever to come back to IMSA and fight for a Rolex. This is a race win that I’ve dreamed about for a long time, and going into it with this team and driver lineup is going to give us a good shot at it.”
