Dixon tops final IndyCar practice session of 2025 at Nashville

Scott Dixon was the fastest driver in the field to close the final practice session of the season at Nashville Superspeedway.

The Chip Ganassi Racing driver set a best lap of 198.759mph in the No. 9 Honda to lead Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden in the No. 2 Chevy (198.466mph), Meyer Shank Racing’s Marcus Armstrong in the No. 66 Honda (198.428mph), AJ Foyt Racing’s David Malukas in the No. 4 Chevy (198.234mph), Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood in the No. 27 Honda (197.716mph) and Foyt’s Santino Ferrucci who completed the top six in the No. 14 Chevy (197.676mph).

Intermittent adversity hit the one-hour session as Nolan Siegel hit the wall and folded the right-rear suspension inward on his No. 6 Arrow McLaren Chevy. PREMA Racing’s Callum Ilott slid up into the marbles and glanced the wall with his No. 90 Chevy and Team Penske’s Will Power had an identical scenario sliding up and lightly contacting the wall with his right-rear corner. All three were uninjured and any damage was easily repairable ahead of Sunday's 225-lap race starting at 2 p.m. ET.
