Desnuda Tequila gives Foster a new look for IndyCar season-finale
Louis Foster will carry a new color scheme on the No. 45 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Honda as he attempts to seal Rookie of the Year at this weekend's NTT IndyCar Series season-finale at Nashville Superspeedway.
Foster's black and gold livery coincides with this month's relaunch of the Desnuda Tequila line.
“I’ve only raced [at Nashville] once before in Indy NXT,” said Foster.
“But it was a good weekend, and I ended up my NXT championship-winning season with a win at the Nashville track. The track is challenging because it’s a big one and it’s quite easy flat, especially in qualifying. So it’s all about trimming the car and using the least amount of downforce as possible. So, it’s an interesting circuit. There is also quite a big bump on the exit of Turn 4 which makes it even harder and that is the main difficulty of the track – that little bump.
“It’s not exactly like any of the other ovals we race at. It’s a bit between a St Louis (WWTR) and a Texas Motor Speedway, although I never drove there. It’s a pretty big oval, not massive like IMS but it’s still pretty big. Our average speed is around 190 mph.
"It’s a fun track to go to. It’s kind of crazy that we’ve already reached the end of the season. I’m surprised at how fast the season has gone by. Qualifying has definitely been our strong suit this year but overall, I have just really enjoyed the learning curve and trying to get better and understand more and more about IndyCar racing; learning what it takes to be competitive and fast. I’m obviously planning to try to finish up the season by winning the Rookie of the Year championship this weekend.”
Foster, whose season highlights include pole at Road America and two other appearances in the Firestone Fast Six, currently leads the rookie standings by eight points over PREMA's Robert Shwartzman.
