Technical updates: 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix

Only three teams have submitted any new components for use during this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix, as Formula 1 approaches its summer break.

With Budapest marking the second race of a doubleheader before the August shutdown, the majority of teams targeted last weekend’s event in Belgium to bring upgrades, allowing them to utilize them over both rounds. The Sprint format at Spa-Francorchamps means plenty of learning will still be taking place during practice this weekend, even for those who have not brought new components specifically to Hungary.

Red Bull has introduced a new front wing update specifically for the Hungaroring, with a longer chord front wing flap increasing local load. There is also an enlarged scoop intake on the front corner for cooling purposes if required.

There is also a new front wing flap at Aston Martin, that the team describes as a more aggressive addition to the new wing introduced last weekend, saying it “increases the total amount of load the wing can generate to be used with the higher-downforce rear wing that will be used at this event.”

The only other team with new parts is Racing Bulls (pictured above), where there are two updated components. A change to the shape of the front brake drum components has been made to improve the flow conditioning of the air passing towards the rear of the car, while there is also a larger cooling louver panel to be able to increase engine cooling if temperatures require it.

The remaining seven teams have not listed any parts as new for this weekend’s race.
