Andretti Cape splits with Escotto

Andretti Cape Indy NXT and driver Ricardo Escotto have parted ways ahead of this weekend's double-header at Laguna Seca.

In a statement released by the team, Andretti Cape Indy NXT said it “wishes Ricardo the best in his future endeavors.” No reason was given for the split.

The 20-year-old Mexican scored his only two top-10 finishes of the season in the opening two races, started with a 10th at St. Petersburg followed by a ninth at Barber.

He was classified 13th last time out at Iowa, and is currently 13th in the points.
