Lundqvist on standby for Arrow McLaren ahead of Toronto

Arrow McLaren has former Chip Ganassi Racing driver Linus Lundqvist on standby to drive the No. 6 Chevy if Nolan Siegel does not receive clearance from IndyCar Medical to return to the car and race at the Honda Indy Toronto event.

Siegel crashed late in Saturday’s Sukup 275 at Iowa Speedway and had a hard rearward impact that punched a hole in the SAFER barrier. The 20-year-old was ruled out from driving the car in Sunday’s Farm To Fresh 275 and will be reevaluated later in the week.

“Nolan Siegel will be evaluated by the IndyCar Medical Team on Thursday morning ahead of his travel to Toronto and will compete this weekend if cleared,” the team wrote.“For precautionary planning purposes, Linus Lundqvist will join the team in Toronto in a reserve driver role, should Nolan not be cleared to compete through the Toronto race weekend.”

In his lone IndyCar start at the Canadian street race, Lundqvist qualified 24th and finished 13th in the No. 8 CGR Honda.
