Stenhouse rips into Hocevar after Mexico City contact

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. delivered a clear message when confronting Carson Hocevar on pit road after Sunday’s race in Mexico City.

“I’m going to beat your a** when we get back in the States,” Stenhouse was heard saying on the in-car camera.

Stenhouse and Hocevar had on-track contact for the second time in three weeks during the inaugural Cup Series race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. In the stadium section of the track, Hocevar appeared to lock up the brakes and get into the rear of Stenhouse on lap 90. The contact sent Stenhouse for a spin.

It was in Nashville two weeks ago that Hocevar also spun Stenhouse. The two drivers spoke after that race and moved on.

But after climbing from his car, Stenhouse walked to Hocevar’s, as he was still inside and had his helmet on, and expressed his displeasure. The exchange went as follows:

Stenhouse: “I’m going to beat your ***. You’re a lap down, you got nothing to do. Why do you run right into me?”

Hocevar: “I washed up.”

Stenhouse: “The second time.”

Hocevar: “Yeah, I know.”

Stenhouse: “I don’t give a ****!”

Hocevar: “No, I know, I [messed] up.”

Stenhouse: “I don’t give a ****! I’m going to beat your *** when we get back in the States.”

Stenhouse finished 27th. Hocevar finished 34th.
