Barnicoat returns to Lexus for Watkins Glen
Lexus GTD team Vasser Sullivan has confirmed that Ben Barnicoat is set to return to IMSA action with the team at Watkins Glen next weekend after making a full recovery from injury.
The Briton, who injured himself in a mountain biking accident before the Sebring 12 Hours, has missed three IMSA races (Sebring, Long Beach and Detroit) and three WEC rounds (Imola, Spa and the Le Mans 24 Hours this week).
This news confirms that Barnicoat will rejoin the Vasser Sullivan team for the third Endurance Cup race of the season, where he will race alongside Aaron Telitz once again in the No. 14 GTD Pro class Lexus RC F GT3. After that, he will then return to WEC action at the 6 Hours of São Paulo in July with AKKODIS ASP.
This weekend, Jack Hawksworth has been subbing for Barnicoat at ASP for Le Mans on short notice.
