Sonsio Grand Prix TV audience down, but season average remains higher than last year
Saturday’s Sonsio Grand Prix, won by Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou delivered an average audience of 710,000 viewers on the FOX network, a 23.3-percent decline from the 875,387 who tuned in to watch last year’s race on NBC, won by the Spaniard as well.
Separate from the 710,000 average, viewership peaked at 823,000, and across the first five IndyCar Series races, the season is up 15 percent year-to-year with an average of 863,000 viewers from St. Petersburg and The Thermal Club in March through Long Beach in April and Barber Motorsports Park and the Indy GP last weekend.
