Papasavvas steps up to Indy NXT with HMD

HMD Motorsports has signed race-winning USF Championships driver Evagoras Papasavvas to fill the Indy NXT vacancy created by Bryce Aron, who departed the team to join Chip Ganassi Racing, for this weekend’s event at Barber Motorsports Park.

“I'm incredibly excited to join HMD Motorsports for the Grand Prix of Alabama," said Papasavvas. "After a productive test at Mid-Ohio, I feel ready to take on the challenge. The car is amazing, and the team has made me feel right at home. I’m grateful to HMD Motorsports for the opportunity, and I’m focused on delivering the best result possible and learning as much as I can this weekend."

Papasavvas placed fourth in the USF2000 series in 2023 and 2024, and makes his Indy NXT debut with HMD in Alabama.

“Evagoras impressed us with how quickly he adapted during the Mid-Ohio test," said Mike Maurini, President of HMD Motorsports. "He showed maturity and speed beyond his years, and we’re looking forward to seeing him compete at Barber. It’s a big step, but we’re confident he’ll handle it well.”
