Householder powers to Parker 400 victory

Adam Householder’s dominance of the UNLTD Off-Road Racing Series’ Unlimited Truck class continued when the veteran racer took the checkered flag for the 2025 Parker 400 season opener. After a long day of competition, Householder completed three laps of the 145-mile course in a total time of 6h25m44s, arriving more than 10 minutes ahead of Riviera Racing’s Robby Gordon and Mark Post on corrected time.

Householder relied on his battle tested 1Nine Industries built Unlimited Truck, powered by an 1,100hp Joe Gibbs Racing power plant specifically developed for off-road racing.

Polesitter Nick Whetstone held the top spot for much of first lap before Gordon piloted his legendary Riviera Racing No. 3 Ford to the physical lead. The former Parker 400 champion decided to stay in the truck, overriding the original plan to allow son Max Gordon to take over driving duties.

By that time, Whetstone, Gordon, Householder and Robert Johnston had established themselves as the four to beat for top honors. The biggest question of the day was if Householder’s slower qualifying performance would prove insurmountable. Not only would he make up the gap, he’d also be scored more than 10 minutes faster than Gordon after he suffered a flat. Whetstone would fall just short of Post and Gordon for second, but he built an 11-minute advantage on Johnston for the third podium spot.

“It’s pretty awesome to start off the beginning of the year like this,” said Householder after his Parker victory. “To get the overall is incredible. We worked hard in the offseason to make this truck faster, and it’s showing right now. Even with the courses getting rougher, we get faster and faster.”

Last year’s Parker 400 overall and Class 1 winner Conner McMullen was the odds-on favorite to win the Unlimited Truck SPEC class, current the sport’s fastest growing category. McMullen took advantage of his pole-setting qualifying run in his Geiser-built machine to earn a 70-second victory over the brand-new 1Nine Industries truck piloted by Cole Hardin. Travis Williams came home just seconds back, with two minutes separating the top three after seven hours of racing.

"It was a good day made super interesting with all the competitors we had racing today, like Hardin and Williams,” said McMullen. “Lap after lap was different, times were different, people were jumping back and forth. It made it a stressful day, but it was a fun day because people were competitive. You can’t get anything more competitive than the spec truck class.”

After a hard-fought battle among the top Class 10 entries all day long, it was Carib Potts who finally came out on top of Friday’s 2025 Parker 400 Limited Race. The driver of the No. 1061 Alumicraft-Chevy machine completed three laps in 7h23m40s, coming back from a DNF in last year’s race to open the newly created UNLTD Off-Road Racing Series season with a huge victory.
