HRC-backed Acura ARX-06 GTP cars get a new set of wheels.
2elle-engineering, S.r.l. and Honda Racing Corporation USA have announced 2elle as a technical supplier to develop and supply race wheels for the pair of Acura ARX-06 GTP prototypes competing in the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech Championship Series.
Under this agreement, 2elle-engineering will supply bespoke monoblock forged aluminum wheels engineered to meet the specifications of both ACO and IMSA for the LMDh Hypercar regulation. The wheels will be branded 2elle as the company expands its presence in motorsports and beyond.
The wheel developed for the ARX-06 is based on design and engineering collaboration between HRC US and 2elle. This process involved precision engineering calculations and computer simulations using both HRC US’s data and 2elle’s expertise to produce a forged aluminum wheel with the perfect balance of lightweight and stiffness. The wheels are manufactured from start to finish in 2elle-engineering’s state of the art factory, located in Italy.
“We’re excited about our new partnership with HRC US, part of our growth at the highest level of global motorsports,” said Luigi Lucaora, founder and principal of 2elle-engineering. “The depth of HRC US in racing is incredible and we are honored to become an HRC US technical supplier. This program provides the perfect technical platform to showcase the continuous expansion of the 2elle brand in the global racing segment and our technical presence at racetracks around the world competing against the best in the industry. Motorsports is the ultimate proving ground for the technology that we use to strengthen the performance of our wheels, enhancing the authenticity of our brand.”
“HRC is pleased to work with 2elle as a technical supplier. Their knowledge and significant resources have been crucial in the development of the ARX-06 wheels,” says Jason Castillo, HRC US, LMDh Large Project Leader. “These wheels have been proven to push the limits of weight and stiffness while also withstanding the challenges of endurance racing.”
In addition to the partnership with HRC, 2elle is also entering into an Industry Support Partnership with IMSA. This partnership will see 2elle-engineering providing factory support service for the race wheels of its technical partners and suppliers competing in the GT and GT-Prototype (GTP) classes of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, beginning with the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona.
2elle-engineering will provide critical technical support and expertise to enhance wheel performance and safety throughout the championship season. The partnership entails a comprehensive range of responsibilities, ensuring seamless collaboration and optimum results.
