Kip Childress took his final spin behind the wheel of the NASCAR pace car in July, and since then, he’s taken on a new role as the executive director of the CARS Tour. Childress is back on The Racing Writer’s Podcast to reflect on his time in NASCAR, the emotion of his final weekend in Chicago, the growth and future of grassroots racing, and the big ideas around the CARS Tour.
Kelly Crandall
Kelly has been on the NASCAR beat full-time since 2013, and joined RACER as chief NASCAR writer in 2017. Her work has also appeared in NASCAR.com, the NASCAR Illustrated magazine, and NBC Sports. A corporate communications graduate from Central Penn College, Crandall is a two-time George Cunningham Writer of the Year recipient from the National Motorsports Press Association.
