Mazda thanks its fans with DPi farewell video
Mazda Motorsports called an end to its factory participation in IMSA’s DPi class in November, and while the brand will be missed at future WeatherTech SportsCar Championship events, it’s leaving with a clear message to its legion of fans that they were its inspiration throughout all the heartbreaks and the wins since joining the class in 2017.

The 2026 season marks Marshall Pruett's 40th year working in the sport. In his role today for RACER, Pruett covers open-wheel and sports car racing as a writer, reporter, photographer, and filmmaker. In his previous career, he served as a mechanic, engineer, and team manager in a variety of series, including IndyCar, IMSA, and World Challenge.
