Author Seeking Ontario Motor Speedway Stories, Photos and More
Menifee, CA -- Fellow motorsports communicator Doug Stokes alerted us last week that a very good friend of his, Mike Allen, is gathering materials for a book that will look back at Ontario Motor Speedway in detail.

So much motorsports history in 10 years. Here, Jim McElreath poses at OMS. Photo: HotWheelsRacetracks
Naturally, a project that recalls a bygone racing circuit -- especially one as special as OMS during its decade in existence -- has our attention, so we wanted to help cast a net for information about the place known as The Big O and the Indianapolis of the West.
Allen is looking for first-person stories, magazine articles, artifacts, photos and any other details that will help him tell the full story of the Ontario, California-based track. It’s a volunteer “labor of love” project for him since he grew up near the track and watched it being built. He’s hoping to complete the project this fall and has already talked with many well-known racers who competed there.
