The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) has announced its 2020 Tire Rack Championship Tour eight-event, nationwide schedule. Across these events, Mazda is planning to pay its racers thousands of dollars in contingency awards funds.
Mazda Motorsports pays more contingency awards than any other car manufacturer to grassroots racers – both in total $ and total number of racers; candidly, it’s not close. SCCA’s Championship Tour is just one area this is reflected, offering $100 or more all the way down to 6th place.
The Championship Tour is also part of the Solo Triad Award. Mazda pays a $600 bonus for those who win a Tire Rack Solo National Championship plus two Championship Tour events. Page 8 of Mazda Motorsports’ contingency awards guide outlines the payments, found here.
