Juncos Racing has announced the addition of Sting Ray Robb for the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires. Robb is the second driver to join the line-up of the reigning 2018 Indy Pro 2000 (formerly Pro Mazda) champions.
Robb, a 17-year old from Payette, Idaho, joins Juncos after collecting one podium, four top-5s and recording the fastest lap at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg during the 2018 Indy Pro 2000 season.
“I am excited about the 2019 season as I return to the Road to Indy with the series stand out, Juncos Racing.” Robb said. “Juncos has proven to be the best in the industry and will, I’m sure, be challenging me to sharpen and hone my racecraft to even higher levels. I am blessed to have the opportunity to be racing among this very deep and talented pool of competitors.
“I plan to be extremely demanding of myself as I learn from this team and we progress together throughout the season.”
Robb made his first appearance with Juncos Racing at the 2017 Chris Griffis Memorial Test and completed a successful test session with Juncos this week in Sebring.
“We are thrilled to add another great talent to our Indy Pro 2000 line-up,” team owner Ricardo Juncos said. “Sting Ray showed a lot of potential in his first test with our team back in 2017. This past year he had great consistency on track and we are looking to carry that momentum into this season. I would like to thank Sting Ray, his family, and supporters for the opportunity to add him to our strong Indy Pro 2000 line-up.”
The 2019 Indy Pro 2000 Championship kicks off next month on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, with Rounds 1 and 2 March 9-10.
