Robin Frijns will pair up with Sam Bird at the renamed Envision Virgin Racing for the 2018/2019 Formula E season.
The team made the announcement on Friday at the same time as it revealed the new livery it will run on its customer Audi e-tron FE05 cars.
Frijns, who is a factory Audi driver, previously spent two seasons in FE with Andretti, and arrives at Virgin as replacement for Alex Lynn, who finished 16th overall last season.
“I’m very excited to be returning to Formula E with Envision Virgin Racing,” said Frijns.
“It’s great to be joining such a strong team and with the work we’ve already completed, it’s clear we have a very good package.
“We now look ahead to pre-season testing, where we’ll be able to better gauge our on-track performance.”
Bird has been omnipresent in Formula E since the series’ inception, and said that he is looking forward to building upon a resume that currently stands at seven wins and 15 podiums.
“It’s great to be remaining with the team for a fifth season,” said the Briton, who finished third overall in season four.
“The relationship we have developed over the last 45 races has been incredible and I’m excited to see it continue to strengthen. Season five is a new era for every team – with the introduction of the Gen2 car – but particularly for us, as we are now joined by Envision Group. The team has worked tirelessly over the summer and is ready to return to the track for pre-season testing.”
The 2018/2019 FE season is scheduled to open in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on December 15.
