Nato replaces Giovinazzi at ESM for Petit Le Mans
France’s Norman Nato will replace Italy’s Antonio Giovinazzi in the No. 2 Tequila Patron ESM Nissan Onroak DPi for IMSA’s season finale at Petit Le Mans. The change comes as a result of Giovinazzi’s obligations to the Sauber Formula 1 team.
In his place, Formula 2 and European Le Mans Series winner Nato will share the No. 2 Nissan with team co-owner Scott Sharp and Ryan Dalziel.
“Tequila Patrón ESM is excited to welcome Norman to our lineup for Petit Le Mans,” Sharp said. “He has shown great speed at each level in his climb up the motorsports ladder, particularly his last season in P2. Norman will acclimate quickly to our Nissan DPi and help greatly towards a repeat win!”
ESM has scored two victories this season and heads into the 10-hour WeatherTech SportsCar Championship title decider as the defending winners. It will also prepare to farewell the spirits brand as the longtime sponsor of its American Le Mans Series and IMSA programs.
