Michelin adds Daytona tire test

Michelin has informed IMSA’s entrants it will host a new one-day test at Daytona International Speedway on December 11.

The testing opportunity, which covers the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the Michelin Pilot Challenge, and Prototype Challenge, will be extended to one entry from each team prior to the first official test of 2019 when the aforementioned series return to Daytona for the Roar Before The 24.

The Daytona trip follows a recent test at the season-opening venue where rain limited running on the first day, but allowed Spirit of Daytona and other teams to log valuable miles the next day in dry conditions.

Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta on October 13 marks the final event for longstanding Grand-Am and IMSA tire supplier Continental.
