TV Ratings: Gateway, Spa

The return of the Verizon IndyCar Series to Gateway Motorsports Park on Saturday night scored a 0.23 rating and averaged 391,000 household viewers on NBCSN. That's essentially unchanged from last year's 0.23/368,000 estimate, also on on NBCSN.

With NASCAR's Cup Series taking a rare weekend off, the Xfinity Series took center stage on NBCSN at Road America, with Saturday afternoon's telecast on NBCSN averaging an 0.55 rating and 910,000 household viewers. That's well down from last year's 1.32/2.1m, though, when this race aired on the NBC broadcast network.

NASCAR's Camping World Truck Series was also road racing last Sunday, with Sunday's telecast from Canadian Tire Motorsports Park on FS1 scoring a 0.31/474,000.

Formula 1 swung back into action after its mid-season break, with Sunday morning's live telecast of the Belgian Grand Prix on ESPN2 scoring a 0.30/474,000. That's an identical rating to last year's Belgian GP on NBCSN, although up slightly in audience (447,000 in 2017) due to the slightly larger reach of "The Deuce" -- which also explains why this year's 0.30 equaled the audience of the Trucks' 0.31 on FS1.
