Kyle Busch in familiar top spot in final Bristol practice

Bristol dominator Kyle Busch was fastest in final Cup Series practice Friday afternoon with a lap of 126.729mph.

Busch is a seven-time Cup Series winner at Bristol. Saturday night Busch will go for his third straight win, having won at Bristol earlier this year and in this race last year.

Results

Martin Truex Jr. ended the session second fastest at 126.312mph. Aric Almirola was third at 126.287mph with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. fourth at 126.154mph, and Kevin Harvick completed the top five at 125.914mph.

The 1 hour, 10-minute session was clean.

The rest of the top 10 in final practice were Erik Jones (125.773mph), Alex Bowman (125.461mph), Chase Elliott (125.363mph), Kurt Busch (125.060mph), and Denny Hamlin (125.020mph).

Kyle Larson, Erik Jones, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Ryan Newman, and Ryan Blaney were the fastest five drivers in the best 10 consecutive lap average.
