Garcia leads second Lime Rock practice for Corvette

The second practice session for Saturday’s Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park looked nearly identical to the first with one major exception, as Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia set the pace in GT Le Mans

Garcia’s Corvette C7.R (0:50.939s) leapfrogged the Ford-Porsche-Ford-Porsche foursome with Joey Hand’s Ford Chip Ganassi Racing GT (+0.062s), Porsche GT Team’s Laurens Vanthoor in his Porsche 911 RSR (+0.179s), FCGR’s Richard Westbrook (+0.206s), and Porsche’s Patrick Pilet (+0.209s) in tow.

The entire GTLM field was covered by 0.590 seconds around the 1.5-mile bullring.

Magnus Racing’s Andy Lally, third in the morning, improved his Audi R8 LMS GT3 to first in GT Daytona field (0:52.140s). Scuderia Corsa’s Gunnar Jeannette showed well in the WeatherTech Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 (+0.158s), and in what has become commonplace, Lexus was represented toward the front of the GTD field, with Dominik Baumann taking his turn in an RCF GT3 (+0.328s).

The only negative from the session came with Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3, which sat out while repairs from the fire incurred during opening practice — which has also necessitated an engine change — take place.
