New look for Kimball at Indy

Identifying Charlie Kimball’s Indy cars has been rather easy since he entered the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2011. Sporting primary sponsorship from Novo Nordisk, various shades of green, white, black, or orange have been the norm for the Carlin Racing driver, but spotting his No. 23 Chevy could take a bit longer with new colors and a new product name adorning the car throughout the month of May.

“As someone with type 1 diabetes, I require two insulins to manage my disease,” Kimball told RACER. “I use Tresiba, which is a long-acting insulin that I take once a day. And I also use Fiasp which is my short acting insulin or the one I take with meals to lower my blood sugar when I eat. Novo Nordisk launched Fiasp earlier this year and is available for adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.”

Once Kimball is done competing in the Indy Grand Prix and Indy 500 with the yellow, white, and blue Fiasp livery, the No. 23 is expected to return to its familiar Tresiba colors.
