IndyCar community rallies to support SPM crewman

The Verizon IndyCar Series community is rallying to the aid of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports truck driver Eric Stewart, whose house burned down Friday night.

Stewart, a veteran of numerous open-wheel teams whose warmth has formed an army of friends, lost everything he owned in the blaze. Swift response to establish a GoFundMe page by NBCSN IndyCar pit reporter Katie Hargitt helped raise over $10,000 for Stewart, and everyone from IndyCar drivers to his fellow SPM team members continue to make donations.
