Meyer Shank adds second car for Mid-Ohio

Meyer Shank Racing has entered a second car for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s visit to Mid-Ohio next month.

Katherine Legge and Alvaro Parente will pair up in the No.86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 alongside the full-time No.93 sister car shared by Lawson Aschenbach and Justin Marks for the Columbus-area team’s home race on May 4-6. The No.86 was originally scheduled to only run at the endurance events, but earned an additional IMSA appearance with the support of a collection of team sponsors.

“We’ve had a strong start to the season so far with both cars and we’ve been working really hard to get the 86 car out for Mid-Ohio,” said Mike Shank. “This track is so close to home and we have had so many great memories at this event, we were really motivated to make it happen. This is going to be a big weekend for us. We are really fortunate to have the partners that we do, who all wanted to see this happen. Katherine and Alvaro will come on board and I know that they both can continue their pace that they have shown already this season.”

The event will be MSR’s first GTD race at Mid-Ohio; the team having last competed there in IMSA’s Prototype ranks in 2013.
