Porsche's speed record chasing 919 P1

Porsche is launching a "Farewell tour" for its retired 919 Hybrid LMP1 prototype – referred to publicly as #919Tribute. DailySportsCar.com reports that part of the plan, teased in this video, is to utilize a modified version of the car to attempt to take outright lap records at a number of circuits, outpacing even Formula 1 cars by significant margins. Compared with the LMP1 race version, the car will feature boosted power as well as new aero, since Porsche is now unconstrained by either regulations or Equivalence of Technology requirements.
