Grand Prix of Boston show car up for auction

By

The aborted Grand Prix of Boston continues to offer reminders of its failure to launch. Entering its third year of failing to exist, one of the few tangible items to come from the lawsuit-riddled event – a Dallara DW12 chassis used for promotions – has reached the popular used car buying website BringaTrailer.com.

Dressed in BGP graphics and event sponsor logos, DW12 chassis No. 007 has made it to the Aston Martin of New England dealership in Waltham, Massachusetts, where the car is close to the end of its bidding cycle.

The show car chassis features a variety of mismatched bodywork, including a mock Speedway front wing, mock road course rear wing, early floor without the anti-intrusion fin and first-generation rear wheel guards.

With 15 bids pushing the BGP DW12 to a high of $6,100 with two days left to go in the auction, someone is going to take home a Dallara for pennies on the dollar.
